Gastroscopy (Endoscopy of the Stomach)

Using gastroscopy, the inside of the oesophagus as well as the stomach can be visually examined. As in humans, gastric ulcers and other pathological changes can occur in the stomach of the horse and can be diagnosed in the standing patient under sedation. Among others, indications for gastroscopy include teeth grinding, poor appetite, poor body condition, reduced training motivation as well as recurrent colic symptoms at feeding time.
